Gabe Hazel was raised in Advance, Missouri. After graduating from Advance High School, he earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri–St. Louis before attending Southern Illinois University School of Law.
While in law school, Gabe gained practical legal experience through the Elder Law and Domestic Violence Clinics. He also received the prestigious CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Agricultural Law, recognizing the highest academic achievement in the course.
After earning his law degree, Gabe entered private practice in Bloomfield, Missouri, where he represented clients in a wide range of legal matters. He later served as the First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Pemiscot County, where he prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felony offenses including murders and sex crimes and developed extensive courtroom experience. Throughout his career, Gabe has handled hundreds of hearings, bench trials, and jury trials.
In 2026, Gabe joined his wife and college sweetheart, Leslie Hazel, at The Hazel Law Firm. Together, they are committed to providing responsive, zealous legal representation to individuals and families throughout Southeast Missouri.
Gabe's practice focuses on personal injury, criminal defense, juvenile defense, and civil litigation. He believes every client deserves straightforward advice, open communication, and an attorney who is fully prepared to protect their interests both inside and outside the courtroom.
Outside the office, Gabe enjoys spending time outdoors, lifting weights, and spending time with his family and friends. As a lifelong Southeast Missourian, he is proud to serve the community he has always called home.
